JMC Academy has been invited to send a small delegation of students to the International Writers Camp 2017 at the Conservatorium Haarlem in the Netherlands.
They will spend a week focussed on one thing and one thing only: writing and recording a top hit with their team.
This is the first year that an Australian institution has been invited to join this exclusive camp, which previously only hosted European students. The Conservatorium Haarlem is a fellow Berklee College of Music collaborator located just outside of Amsterdam.
During the International Writers Camp several prominent music publishers and labels will attend, among which for example include BMG/Talpa, Warner Chappell, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, CTM Publishing, and Armada Music. The delegates of these companies will provide the students (who are mixed into groups of 4 consisting of songwriters, producers and instrumentalists from other institutes) with real-life assignments for songs on which they will spend the following 3 days and nights writing, recording, and producing. At the end of the camp the songs will be presented to the publishers panel, who will also offer feedback. Many past productions have gone on to become tracks (and hits) for internationally renowned artists.
The camp will provide an international melting pot of talented writers and producers from around the world. Three Music/ Songwriting students and one Audio student will be selected by JMC Academy staff to represent JMC from Tuesday 31st October to Friday 3rd November at this opportunity of a lifetime.
