JMC Academy was the proud Education Partner of this year’s ENTECH exhibition which was held from the 23rd – 25th July.
As Education Partner JMC Academy presented three workshop sessions represented by academic staff and alumni. JMC Academy also exhibited at the co-located Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) Conference and Exhibition.
On day one of ENTECH, Producer, Engineer, Multi-Instrumentalist, Singer/Songwriter and JMC Academy lecturer Michael Carpenter presented the Seminar “Fundamentals of Audio Equalization”. In which Michael provided an introduction to equalization, how to use equalization effectively and apply it to virtually any situation.
Day three featured two separate seminars, “Getting the most out of a small system” presented by Engineer, Production Manager and JMC Academy Alumnus Gareth Stuckey. Gareth shared tips and techniques such as using system EQs to tune a bad sound system and how to help a band help themselves with stage sound. And finally JMC Academy’s Head of Audio Engineering and Sound Production Department, Glenn Ferguson, presented “Project Studio Recording Techniques – Tips and Tricks”. Where Glen delivered an interactive session giving a professional's insight into how to get the most out of a limited range of equipment and covered topics such as recording, mixing and general set up and management of the studio.
