Producer Young Guru, Grammy-nominated for his work on the Jay-Z and Alicia Keys monster hit 'Empire State of Mind', has hooked up with Father Chris Riley's Youth Off the Streets Foundation, and will visit JMC Academy for national workshop Q&A Sessions.
Young Guru, born Gimel Keaton, told Confidential
; "It's really about empowering the youth. It's something I do in my home town and I have a vested interest to do this all around the world. I let young people know how they can get into the industry and teach them lessons about the industry."
Young Guru revealed he had been worried 'Empire State of Mind' might not be relevant around the world. He said: "It's such a New York-centric song. Will people in Melbourne relate to it? In hindsight, it was a universal record."
