Paul McKercher

Credited with Five ARIA Awards and hundreds of releases, the Sonic signatures of clarity, power, punch and musicality are the defining qualities of Paul's work. He understands musicians and can tap into the essence of their artistic vision while making the recording process transparent, enjoyable, even transcendent. 

He has a deep technical knowledge and is a multi-instrumentalist with formal training in music (AMEB grade 7) and the recording arts, working at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for a decade taking the role of Triple J live music producer for three years.

The king of rock and pop production here in Sydney, Paul's many credits make him a perfcect mentor for any young aspiring engineer. 

Nick Franklin 

Nick is a world reknowned music producer and recording engineer that owns and operates Rolodex Sound in Sydney. Nick's career in audio engineering and sound production began whilst working under industry veteran mastering engineer Rick O'Neil at the southern hemisphere's largest mastering studio Turtlerock Mastering.

He has since gone on to become the house engineer at Linear Recording where he has worked with artists such as Peking Duk, Daniel Johns (Silverchair), Miley Cyrus, Client Liaison and Deep Sea Arcade. Nick now produces, mixes and masters in a freelance capacity and develops emerging artists and bands.

An insanely talented member of our JMC Community, Nick is the complete mentor package for any aspiring or establish audio engineer.

Branko Pezo 

Branko has completed a master in recording arts, and has a deep passion for recording and arranging, operates a music-recording studio and in partnership opened a private music school. His production and arrangements have carved a solid reputation for attention to detail and is noted for vocal production.

With T.V. appearances as well as local and international radio interviews and airplay to his credit, Branko's production has also inspired a remix achieving a top 5 in the Spanish charts.

A whiz with Ableton and using loops and samples to bring a track together, Branko is ready to help you get creative ideas into a production masterpiece. 

Melbourne Mentors 

Toni Lozanovski

Toni has been involved with music since his early teens, playing guitar in various bands from rock, metal and acoustic folk. Since graduating in 2006 Toni has produced and released music under various artists’ names, has been signed to Ministry Of Sound Australia, and is currently signed to Vicious Recordings. He has remixed tracks for such artist as Avicii, Sebastian Drums, The Potbelleez, P-Money, Sidney, Samson, Jurgen Paape, Enur, Peyton, Sesa, Milk & Sugar, Dirty Vegas and many more.

So, if you're a producer or simply someone who wants to learn more about making beats, Toni is your man!

Mark Kelson 

A Sound Engineer, Producer & Musician with more than 20 years industry experience, Mark has engineered and produced local and international acts stretching as far as Europe & Canada. He also runs Kelsonic Studios in Melbourne.

As a musician Mark is best known as the Vocalist & Guitarist for Melbourne based outfit The Eternal. Over their 15 year career, The Eternal have to date released six full-length albums to worldwide critical acclaim. The band has also toured internationally with many high profile artists. Mark has worked with several acts as a session musician which has lead him to do further touring & recording throughout Europe, Asia, North America & South America. Mark is also a published writer, writing for Japanese Sound & Pro Audio Magazine DiGiRECO (a true triple threat!).

Mark is a perfect mentor for anyone who is currently an avid engineer or someone who is keen to learn about mixing and engineering their own material!

Brisbane Mentors 

Steve James

A Producer, Recording and Mixing Engineer, Steve has worked with a variety of local and internationally renowned artists such as The Rutles, Toyah, The Jam, The Sex Pistols, The Screaming Jets, The Angels and Cold Chisel. One of his career highlights was working on the song  ”Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life”  from the Movie The Life of Brian by Monty Python as well as originally producing the children series “Teletubbies”. This has led him to being nominated for a Grammy award as well as winning ARIA’s for ‘Producer of the Year’ and ‘Engineer of the Year’.

Steve is your man for any rock, acoustic and folk projects that you want to work on in your mentoring session!

Mitch Pattugalan

As a songwriter & producer, Mitch Pattugalan works closely with artists to create quality releases and recordings, writing & producing songs in a range of genres.  An R&B artist in his own right, he writes and performs his own music under the alias, Maximo.

In recent years, Mitch has spent time recording at Platinum Sound Studios in New York, as well as in Los Angeles at Ableton’s Loop Summit for Music Makers. Locally, he continues to work on various music & film projects with emerging & established talents alike. After designing Maximo’s unique live show - which integrates sampling, triggering & live-looping alongside a full rhythm section – Mitch took up an opportunity to tour nationally as a musical director in this capacity, culminating in a showcase at the Electronic Music Conference in Sydney.

Needless to say, if your passion lies in electronic and pop genre projects, Mitch is your perfect mentor!
