FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR THE 24TH WARNER ROADSHOW STUDIOS QUEENSLAND NEW FILMMAKER AWARDS
"The panel of industry judges had a very tough time selecting the best of the best from more than 100 entries, with film students from Griffith University, Bond University, QUT and JMC Academy generating particularly high entry rates," said Ms Barron.
Presented by Screen Queensland, the Warner Roadshow Studios QNFA recognise and encourage the achievements of emerging Queensland filmmakers and provide an opportunity for them to connect with industry experts.
Previous winners of the biggest new filmmaker competition in Australia have had their work showcased at some of the world's leading festivals including Cannes Film Festival and include Ivan Sen (Beneath Clouds) and Michael and Peter Spierig (Undead, Daybreakers).
"I congratulate all the 2010 finalists and look forward to seeing their careers develop within the Queensland film industry in the coming years," said Ms Barron.
