The 2020 virtual event will present a program that provides forward thinking, listening, learning, discovering and, most importantly, industry connection for the music community not lost due to COVID-19!
In partnership with BIGSOUND, JMC is giving the opportunity to four artists across all our campus' the chance to be apart of the future of music and perform at our Emerging Artist Showcase on Thursday 22nd October from 7pm! This 60 minute set will be showcasing; Brisbane indie-rock Goddess Evangie and the energetic lads from Patient Lounge, Melbourne’s RnB specialist Edie Ren and from Sydney, Ollie & Me with his amazing Brit Pop inspired acoustic set.
JMC is so proud to bring you this amazing and diverse line up of incredibly talented students and to show off the insane talent that we are lucky enough to have studying on each of our campuses! But that's not all...
We are so proud to annouce that JMC Melbourne Student Yirgjhilya has cemented her place as one of 2020's BIGSOUND50!
As an artist in the BIGSOUND50, Yirgjhilya wants to push the boundaries of being an Aboriginal contemporary artist and “create diversity and inclusion in the Australian Music Industry.” Yirgjhilya hopes to give back to the community, provide opportunities for Indigenous youth and positively influence those around her. Ultimately, Yirgjhilya is on the right track to create a musical legacy to travel the world share her story and her message of strength as an Aboriginal Artist and Woman. Check out her single Baganar! Last but not least...
We can't forget about our very own Head of Music in Melbourne, Chris Pickering who is playing with Lydia Fairhall and The She Oaks, another BIGSOUND50 entry emerging in the music scene!
For singer-songwriter Lydia Fairhall singing is an aligning force. Along with The She Oaks, she draws on elements of folk, pop and alt-country to bring listeners to higher realms, inviting them to notice the beauty in the world. “I share these songs because I am deep in humanity and hope that others may find healing and reprieve in my work."
