JMC Academy offers the opportunity for students to spend one trimester abroad at Fontys University Academy for the Creative Economy (ACE) in Tilburg, Netherlands. As part of the exchange, JMC Academy receives Fontys University ACE students in February each year.
The JMC exchange students study alongside others from around the world as they undertake subjects offered by the Fontys ACE. Students receive subject credits that are the equivalent of one full trimester of study. All subjects are delivered in English at the Tilburg campus.
Exchange program information
JMC students will undertake a one-unit program worth 30 ECTS (equivalent to one trimester at JMC Academy). Students seeking to transfer credit for their ACI studies to their JMC degree must successfully complete the unit on the personalised learning agreement in order to be awarded credit for the corresponding JMC units.
- 2 October 2026: Applications to JMC close
- 1 November 2026: Successful applicants notified and nominated to Fontys.
- 15 November 2026: Successful applicants need to apply to Fontys.
- Early February 2027: Orientation week (can be subject to change)
- 15 February 2027 - 9 July 2027: Semester duration*.
*Exchange students can leave earlier than the official semester end date. Usually hand in moments are two weeks prior to semester end date.
This program is available for Entertainment Business Management, Film and Television,
Animation, Game Design and Design students only. Students must have completed at least
two trimesters of study at JMC Academy prior to commencing the exchange program.
Trend and Future Research
Learn how to advise companies and organizations on how to navigate change. In this
course, you will learn to identify trends and imagine possible futures and translate this

Start Up Project
Students are trained to become modern, forward-looking flexible professionals. The
program will teach students how to design digital concepts and market them. During
the semester program students are expected to launch their own start-up-based
product or service while also working on various graduation classes.
Transmedia Design
Transmedia Design is the ultimate fit for those who like stories, film, gaming, have a
thing for innovative media but also like to think strategically. Engage with the cutting
edge field of transmedia design, blending storytelling across multiple platforms, and
