Your first couple of weeks of classes are vital in setting you up for success for the trimester. This is our guide to starting the trimester off right and putting your best foot forward.

Campus Wi-Fi

Logging into your free campus Wi-Fi is easy! Follow the steps below to access Wi-Fi on campus.

  1. Open Wi-Fi settings on your device and select JMC-Academy.
  2. Your username will be the start of your student email (example: jsmith3)
  3. Your password will be the password that you use to access your student email and Microsoft 365 account. Make sure you have logged into Microsoft 365 before attempting to access the Wi-Fi.

Top Tip: You can use these same login details when using the on-campus computers!

Getting to Campus

Getting to the Brisbane campus is easy by train, bus, or on foot:

From South Brisbane Station:
Exit onto Grey Street and cross at Melbourne Street (towards Starbucks). Walk past Fish Lane and you’ll find us at 69–75 Grey Street – just a short stroll away!

By bus:
The nearest major stop is Cultural Centre Busway, only a 5-minute walk from campus. It’s serviced by frequent buses from all over Brisbane and surrounding suburbs.

Sips O'Clock Café
A hidden gem and student go-to, known for its excellent coffee, toasties, and relaxed vibes. Tae and the team are always there to greet you with a smile – the perfect spot for your pre-class caffeine hit or a chill lunch.
On-campus

State Library of Queensland
Need a quiet place to study or track down the nichest of niche books? The State Library is just a few minutes away – a modern space with peaceful study zones, city views, and free Wi-Fi.

South Bank
Brisbane’s iconic riverside destination – home to parklands, cafes, the Wheel of Brisbane, and even a beach. It’s perfect for a sunset walk, a bite to eat, or just soaking up the atmosphere. Plus, check out the lively markets every Friday afternoon!

Getting to the Melbourne campus is easy by tram:

From Flinders St Station:
Catch the #1 tram towards South Melbourne Beach.
Hop off at Stop 24 – Clarendon St / Park St.

From Southern Cross Station:
Catch the #12 tram towards St Kilda.
Hop off at Stop 129 – Park St / Clarendon St.

Getting to Campus

Getting to the Sydney campus is easy by bus, tram, or train:

From Central Station:

Exit via the Devonshire Street tunnels or Railway Square and follow The Goods Line alongside the Powerhouse Museum on Harris St. It’s about a 10–15 minute walk to the campus.

By tram:

The nearest stop is Paddy’s Markets, about a 6-minute walk from campus. It’s on the L3 Kingsford line (also L2 Randwick passes nearby at Chinatown stop but is slightly further).

Haymarket 

A Sydney treasure, Haymarket is home to Sydney’s Chinatown, Steam Mill Lane, Darling Square, Paddy’s Markets, and Spanish Quarter. It is filled with diverse food spots, shopping, and grocers specialising in genuine Asian cuisine.
