I never thought I’d ever make a career from games. What I learnt at JMC was the technical side of things: 3D modelling, texturing, and how to assemble an environment. But I also learnt the soft skills—how to collaborate in a team, how to take an idea and develop it.

For me, the opportunity going away with JMC was of course partially about going to Japan. From more of an educational perspective, it was great to try more of those traditional art techniques, especially as someone who exists purely digital as a game student.
