This practical diploma will give you a solid understanding of digital audio workstations and analogue consoles, and your choice of electives in Electronic Music Production or Live Event Production. Kick-off your studies and learn to edit, arrange and mix on software-based synths while mastering mixing consoles and signal processors. Finally record using a multi-track recorder, overdub and collaborate with and mix, a live band in the studio and take a step closer to your dream audio job.

Alumni Spotlight: Chris Harding

Chris Harding has built a successful career in AV system design, support, and programming, working across education, hospitality, corporate, and government sectors. As a Solutions Architect at AVA Distribution, he has programmed over 500 QLD school halls and venues using Yamaha DSPs, and led major installations at Lefty’s Music Hall, Boundary Hotel, Bli Bli Tavern, and more.

His expertise spans Dante Audio, Kramer AVoIP, and Yamaha Commercial Audio, delivering innovative AV solutions for classrooms, clubs, auditoriums, and boardrooms.

"JMC gave me the confidence and creative angles to scope, build, and troubleshoot professional audio solutions.  It set me up with all the required skills and terminology for system design, helped me broaden my understanding of audio specifics like gain structure, signal tracing, and speaker processing, to dive into the system software and hardware I use today.
