At JMC Academy, we see those moments all the time. And now we’ve created something to further help emerging designers to access the creative careers of their dreams.

Introducing JMC Academy’s Design Scholarship: a new initiative supporting emerging designers beginning the Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) in Trimester 1, 2026, offering a 30% tuition fee reduction for the entire degree.

This scholarship is for the students who think visually, ask better questions, and see design not just as decoration, but as communication, culture, and change. The ones who want to start strong, build a real portfolio, and learn inside a creative community that takes design seriously.

Why This Scholarship Exists

Design is the connective tissue of almost every industry, encompassing branding, digital media, entertainment, tech, advocacy, entertainment, education, and beyond.

What Recipients Receive

• Valid for the full duration of the Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication)

Who We’re Looking For

Not “perfect” designers. Not carbon-copy creatives.

We’re looking for applicants from all walks of life who show:

• Curiosity
• Creative potential
• A spark in their portfolio
• A sense of direction (even if it’s a little messy around the edges)
• Motivation to grow, experiment, and build something real during their time at JMC

Eligibility-wise, you’ll need to be:

• A school leaver or entering through an approved admissions pathway
• Starting the Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) full-time in Trimester 1 2026
• A domestic student
• Not currently holding another JMC scholarship of equal/higher value
