JMC Academy is proud to continue its partnership with the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA), supporting the growth and recognition of Australia’s country music community.
Together, we’re helping to create pathways for emerging talent, industry connection, and cultural celebration.
Hosting the CMAA Achiever Awards & Symposium
On Saturday 13 September 2025, JMC’s Sydney campus will once again host one of the most anticipated events on the country music calendar, the CMAA Achiever Awards and Industry Symposium. This full-day celebration brings together artists, managers, educators, broadcasters, students, and music industry professionals for a unique blend of connection, learning, and recognition.
The Industry Symposium: An afternoon of panels and Q&As with respected voices in the business. Topics include network building, branding, airplay and streaming, festivals and touring, and other essential insights for anyone looking to grow their career in the industry.
The Achiever Awards Ceremony: An inspiring evening that honours both legacy achievers and contemporary contributors to country music. Guests can expect red carpet moments, live performances, and heartfelt recognition of those shaping the scene today
Research & Industry Growth
This year’s event comes at a pivotal time for Australian country music. In partnership with CMAA, JMC Entertainment Business Management (EBM) students, coordinated by Will Day, were part of a national research team led by Dobe Newton conducting an industry-wide census.
The findings show just how fast the sector is growing:
- Country music revenue has risen 77% since 2019, reaching a total of $1.09 billion.
- Live performance now represents 51% of industry revenue, worth $560 million—a 93% increase since 2019.
These results highlight the strength and opportunity in the sector, making JMC’s role in fostering future country music leaders more important than ever.
Supporting Emerging Artists
JMC’s commitment to country music extends beyond hosting events. Through sponsorship of the CMAA Academy of Country Music, JMC has provided funded places for young musicians to participate in elite songwriting and industry programs.
Last year’s recipients Robbie Morgan and Poppy Walmsley are both examples of the young creatives JMC has helped support on their journey toward a professional career in music.
At its core, this collaboration is about more than events, it’s about investing in the future of Australian music. From research and education to mentoring and celebration, JMC’s ongoing partnership with CMAA reflects a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of talent while honouring the legends who have paved the way.
