You’ve had a breather. A pause.

Maybe it was intentional, maybe it wasn’t. A gap year that stretched longer than you expected, or a low-key limbo that quietly settled in after school ended. You said you’d figure it out later… and later is now!

And if you’re sitting in that space between what-was and what’s-next, still tuned into the playlist of possibility but unsure of your next move — we’re here to tell you something:

Mid-year might be your magic hour!

Yep- not January. Not some mythical "new year, new me”. Mid-year. The not-so-obvious launchpad for creative people like you, especially if you've been out of the school system for a bit and are finally ready to do something — just not something boring.

Why Mid-Year Works (Especially After a Gap Year)

There’s something beautifully freeing about not following a “conventional timeline”. Whilst everyone else hit the ground running back in Feb, here you are — wiser, more grounded, maybe with a little sun on your skin or a new sense of what doesn’t work for you. That matters. That’s useful.

When you start mid-year, you’re not stepping into a classroom full of school-leavers straight from exams. You’re entering a new course with people who, like you, took a second. People who’ve travelled, worked retail, started a side hustle, built a following, or just needed time to breathe before deciding what to study.

Your Passion Didn’t Go Away — It Got Louder

If you've spent the last few months constantly making playlists, editing film shorts at 1am, sketching character designs, recording voice memos with melody ideas, or obsessively watching behind-the-scenes breakdowns of your favourite game — that's not just boredom talking. That’s your brain yelling, “Hey! We’ve got something here. A passion! Let’s build it.”

A course at JMC isn’t just school with cooler subjects. It’s a space designed for makers and for turning passions into lifelong professions. And starting in June means you could be collaborating with other creatives and building your portfolio before the year is out — not thinking about it, not “manifesting” it — but actually doing it.

Start Before You’re Ready (Everyone Does!)

Most people don’t feel 100% ready to start anything big, ever — but mid-year is less about being ready, and more about being willing. Willing to show up. Willing to try. Willing to follow that gut feeling that says: “This could be something.”

You’ve already had your break. You’re not behind. You’re just getting started — but on your own terms.

JMC Academy’s June intake is open now.

Diplomas and Degrees in Music, Audio, Design, Film, Animation, Game Development, Entertainment Business, and Acting.

Mid-year isn’t a second option. It’s the right one!
