Battle of the Bands competition 2026
JMC is thrilled to announce our next high school competition launching this August! That's right, turn up the volume... it's time for Battle of the Bands. Whether you're a band, solo artist or duo, all are encouraged to enter.
We’re challenging Queensland high school students aged 15 years and up to go head-to-head in a statewide contest, all vying for a very special prize.
This isn't like any other competition, all thanks to JMC's proud partnership with The Tivoli Group’s premier music and cultural program, Open Season. Since 2020, Open Season has been spotlighting local acts alongside international artists on some of the biggest stages across Brisbane in a three-month long winter program.
Keep those rehearsals rocking, because the battle is calling! There will be special runner up prizes, but there will only one winner!
Interested in Audio Engineering and Sound Production or Film and Television and keen to get involved? We have a limited number of high school student work experience options involved as part of the Battle of the Bands event.

And here comes the best part; the lucky winers of this competition secure a spot as a support act at one of Brisbane’s elite music venues via our partnership with The Tivoli Group.

It's easy! Just submit band information, genre, influences, links to original music and/or live performance videos.
