JMC Academy’s Cassette Awards continued their national tour, landing in Brisbane on Monday 17 November for a night dedicated to celebrating JMC Brisbane’s student and alumni talent, creativity, and the vibrant community that powers our campus.

Taking over the iconic venue The Triffid in Newstead, the event brought together students, alumni, staff, friends, and family for a high-energy evening that showcased the very best of Brisbane’s music, audio, and entertainment business cohorts.

A Night of Celebration

From the moment doors opened, the venue buzzed with a sense of excitement and possibility. Hosted across three hours of performances, awards, and celebration, the Brisbane Cassette Awards honoured standout work from across the year from emerging artists and songwriters to producers, engineers and event specialists.

The Triffid's glowing, arching atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for students to shine on a professional stage, reflecting JMC’s emphasis on real-world learning and industry-aligned experience.

Creative Excellence on Display

Much like last week’s Sydney and Melbourne Cassette Awards, Brisbane presented an impressive lineup of student achievements across multiple disciplines. The night highlighted the multidisciplinary nature of the creative industries, where audio engineers collaborate with vocalists, business students bring events to life, and performance students lead from centre stage. Across the evening, the audience was treated to live performances from Brisbane’s incredible JMC community, including Americano, Beer Preasure, My Daydreams, Topaz, Quarter Short, Roronah, Coral Coast and DJ Justice

Each winner celebrated on the night demonstrated not only technical skill and artistic growth, but also collaboration, dedication, and creative ambition (qualities core to the JMC experience!).

Community at the Heart

As with every Cassette Awards event, Brisbane’s ceremony was grounded in gratitude and community spirit. Students cheered each other on, families filled the room with pride, and alumni returned to celebrate the next generation of creatives coming through the Brisbane campus.

The event also continued JMC’s commitment to supporting the wider creative sector, with sales of an exclusive Cassette GIG T-shirt raising funds for Support Act, the music industry’s leading crisis relief charity.

Thank You, Brisbane

Congratulations to all nominees, finalists and winners. Whether you performed, produced, mixed, managed, or supported behind the scenes, your achievements reflect the talent and hard work that define JMC Academy Brisbane.

A huge thank you to our students, staff, alumni, and industry guests for contributing to another unforgettable Cassette Awards celebration and to The Triffid for hosting a night that truly captured the energy of JMC’s  creative community.
