If you’re a Year 12 student in NSW or the ACT, now is the time to review your UAC preferences ahead of upcoming offer rounds.
This guide explains how to update your preferences and what to think about before you lock them in for 2026.

STEP 1: Log in to UAC
Go to uac.edu.au and log in via the application portal.

STEP 2: Open Your Course Preference List
From your UAC dashboard, navigate to your course preferences section.

STEP 3: Add, Delete or Reorder Courses

Review your list and make changes based on what you genuinely want to study next year.
You can add courses, remove them, or reorder your preferences. Always place your first-choice course at the top. UAC will assess you for the highest eligible preference on your list.

STEP 4: Save Your Changes
Make sure you save and confirm your changes. Your updates are not applied unless they are saved correctly.

UAC Change of Preference Deadline

Change of Preference closes on:
Thursday 18th December at 11:59pm

Make sure your preferences are final before the cut off time.

Your ATAR Does Not Define You

Your ATAR is one measure of academic performance. It does not measure creativity, originality or potential.

At JMC:

  • You do not need an ATAR to apply for our creative degrees
  • Applicants are assessed through interviews, auditions or portfolios
  • Year 12 students receive personalised support throughout the application process

We look at you, not your number.
