Stepping out under the bright lights of The Voice AU stage is no small thing, and this year, two JMC students have done just that.

First up, Cait Jamieson, Brisbane-based multi-instrumentalist, singer and 2025 Toyota Starmaker Grand Finalist, is no stranger to a big crowd. With country music stitched into her DNA, Cait has already racked up an impressive list of festival credits from Tamworth Country Music Festival and Gympie Muster to Winton’s Way Out West Fest and Cruisin’ Country. Seasoned beyond her years, she brings heart, craft, and a fearless love of performance to every show. Cait turned the chairs of three judges on her Sunday night Voice debut (Richard Marx, Kate Miller-Heidke, and Melanie C!) by singing one of judge Richard’s own songs, ‘Right Here Waiting’. A huge feat!

Also turning chairs over the weekend was Alyssa Delpopolo, whose stunning cover of  Teddy Swims’ 'Lose Control’ earned her FOUR turned seats from the judges. Plucked from The Voice audience just hours earlier, her performance arrived with minimal prep and maximum impact.

Her post-audition words on social media say it all:

“THAT JUST HAPPENED!!! Can’t believe I actually had the courage to get up and do that. So proud of myself and so grateful for all the love and support from everyone around me. Thank you to all the coaches as well, I definitely wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you guys.”

Between Cait’s country fire and Alyssa’s brave leap into the unknown, both students remind us what it means to go all in on your art! These moments, where hard work meets courage, and talent meets opportunity, are exactly what JMC is all about.

To Cait and Alyssa: congratulations! Your JMC community is behind you, cheering loud, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes you next.
