JMC Academy’s Creative Futures Tour is returning to Indonesia in 2026, bringing free music workshops, live auditions, and creative course presentations to senior high school students in Surabaya and Jakarta.

 

Event overview

 

  • Audience: Senior high school students and above (parents welcome).
  • Cost: FREE, with partial scholarships available for eligible students.
  • Focus areas: Contemporary Music Performance, Songwriting, Music Production, plus information on JMC’s full suite of creative courses in animation, game design, design (visual communication), acting, music theatre, audio, entertainment management, film & TV, and our postgraduate program.

Surabaya: Sunday, 22 February 2026, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Bumi Surabaya City Resort.

Jakarta: Saturday, 28 February 2026, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Hotel Harris Suites FX Sudirman.

 

 

What’s happening on the day?

 

  • Live Music Audition & Workshop with James O’Brien, Head of Music (Melbourne), covering contemporary music performance, songwriting, and music production.
  • Interactive workshop “Making Music Tracks with Sampled Sound” from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
  • Live audition, interview, and counselling session from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM for students interested in studying music at JMC in Australia.
  • Creative Courses Presentation & Counselling with Linda Leo, JMC Academy’s Indonesia Representative, including one-on-one course counselling (first-come, first-served).

This event is a chance to experience JMC’s hands-on, industry-focused approach to creative education, meet Australian academics in person, and get personalised advice on studying creative arts in Australia.

Students can discover international study pathways, understand entry requirements, and receive feedback on their creative potential, while parents gain clarity on career outcomes and support available for international students.

 

How to Join

 

  • Who should register: Senior high school students considering creative study pathways in music or other creative fields, plus parents or guardians who want to explore options for further study in Australia.
  • What to bring: Year 12 students are encouraged to bring their latest school report card for direct assessment and tailored course advice.
  • Attendance: RSVP is essential and places are limited, so make sure to register early to secure your spot.
