Inspired by the Australian bowerbird and the iconic Bauhaus movement, Bower House brings together seven emerging designers as they present a curated collection of work spanning branding, illustration, motion design and digital media.
Like the bowerbird, designers collect, arrange, refine, and re-contextualise ideas—building creative “nests” that express who they are and what they’re becoming. This showcase celebrates that process.
Whether you’re considering JMC’s Design (Visual Communication) course or simply passionate about creativity, this event invites you to experience the quality, professionalism, and imaginative spirit our students graduate with. Meet the designers, explore their work, and gain insight into the design journey that could be yours by the February 2026 trimester.
Join us. Discover emerging designers. See your future at JMC.

Frida YurikaI’m a visual communication designer who loves turning small ideas into visuals that feel alive. I like exploring how colours, shapes, and textures can tell a story and create a feeling before words even appear. |

Joe SinghMy identity as a designer is an amalgamation of my love for dramatic fashion silhouettes, sultry-grotesque horror, and the chaotic energy of avant-garde media. Growing up observing boundary pushing work led me to create experimental designs of my own. My practice is bold, experimental, and constantly evolving. |

Leah ZaylaaAs a designer, I love trying new things. I create my art using Procreate, preferring the hands-on feel over digital. The colours of the ocean and reef inspire me, especially with a touch of blue in everything I do. |
