JMC Academy Melbourne lecturer Nick Harrison was in Singapore this week to deliver a Location Sound workshop at the Singapore Media Academy.
The one-week course was delivered as professional development to Senior Sound Engineers from Singapore’s national broadcaster, MediaCorp.
The workshop focussed on recording and editing location sound for a range of contexts, including set and outdoor location shoots for film and television broadcast.
Nick Harrison has over 15 years experience in the audio industry and, in addition to his work at JMC, runs Truth Recordings, a business focused on recording concerts and soundscapes. At JMC he lectures in Audio Acoustics and Sound for Film, TV and Radio.
His recent projects include ‘Sound Infusion’, a music sequencing application that includes work from 26 different countries; soundscape compositions for the Shanghai World Expo; concert recordings at major music festivals around Australia, and a six-week trek around India and Nepal recording cultural performances in remote villages.
