Berklee College composer and musician Mark Simas will be conducting songwriting seminars this August at leading creative industries college JMC Academy.
Using his 360° songwriting philosophy, Simos will teach attendees how to create finely crafted lyrics, twists of melody, harmony and phrasing that can adapt to trends in the ever-changing world of music.
Simos is fresh from co-writing Jimmy Barnes' latest album, adding to his impressive musical portfolio which includes four songs recorded by Americana supergroup Alison Krauss & Union Station, and more than 100 song and instrumental cuts with artists including Del McCoury and The Infamous Stringdusters.
The Melbourne seminar is open to the public and takes place this Saturday and Sunday from 10am. Tickets are $250 or $200 for JMC or APRA members.
