Changes to Concession Cards to Opal

Calling all JMC Academy Sydney Students, from January 01 2016, most paper tickets will no longer be sold on Public transport, meaning that you should think about registering now for your concessions Opal card.

Only concession single and return tickets will be available from 1 January 2016. The retirement of most paper tickets affects travel within Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Hunter, Illawarra and Southern Highlands.

This means, if you do not already have a concessions Opal card, you will not be able to use your paper tickets from 2016, so make sure you apply for a concessions opal card now if you are a JMC Academy student.

Step 1
Students need to give consent to share their details with Transport for NSW. This may be done as part of enrolment or at any time through the student office. Please allow 2 business days* for this information to reach Transport for NSW before applying.
Step 2
Next, apply for the Concession Opal card.
• Visit opal.com.au
• Or call 13 67 25 (13 OPAL)
Students should ensure they have their enrolment information handy when applying.
Step 3
Within 5-7 days the Concession Opal card will arrive in the post. Students should then activate their new card before using it to travel.
