To keep things easy and accessible for busy teachers and parents, JMC Academy has a dedicated Creative Scope team member affably known as a 'Scoper' located on each campus in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Patricia has been working for the past 20 years in animation/visual effects and entertainment industry. She started as a trainee Cinema Manager for Village Roadshow on George Street (which is sadly no longer there) and was Location Manager of her own complex in Parramatta, then moved to the set up team of Fox Studios Backlot (which wasn’t the success everyone was hoping for); so she went overseas to Canada and the UK for a couple of years to think about what she wanted to do when she grew up. Upon returning to Sydney she started working at Animal Logic an animation and visual effects studio (Happy Feet, The LEGO Movie, Captain Marvel, Peter Rabbit) in the Recruiting department and after 15 years decided to look at how else she could help others find their place in this changing landscape of roles and careers.
1. What was your least favourite food as a child? Do you still hate it, or do you love it now?
Mushrooms, still HATE them, even though my chef friend makes me eat one every new year. Yuck, gross, no way.
2. If you had to delete all but 3 apps from your phone, which ones would you keep?
Instagram, Waze (I have an appalling sense of direction) and Games launcher. But, really how could you possibly only have 3?!
3. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Vet or an Editor, surprisingly I just realised they are similar careers in that you are making something better and whole.
4. Would you rather be a superhero or the world’s best chef?
Chef, hands down. Food can bring people together, create great memories, be at the forefront of technology and innovation, comfort you…. I think a chef is a superhero!
5. If you could write a book that was guaranteed to be a best-seller, what would you write?
It would actually be a photography book.
6. Why do you think the Creative Careers and Pathways department is important?
There is so much information out there about careers and pathways it’s overwhelming and information about creative roles and careers can get lost. I see our role as supporting the teachers, parents and students to broaden their idea of what a “creative” is and how these roles can be found in so many industries and debunk preconceived ideas.

1. What was your least favourite food as a child? Do you still hate it, or do you love it now?
My Taita’s lentil soup (Kibbet el Raheb – eaten on Good Friday). Couldn’t stand it as a child, I absolutely love it now.
2. If you had to delete all but 3 apps from your phone, which ones would you keep?
Google Maps, YouTube, Spotify
3. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A professional wrestler. Filmmaking took over in my teens though.
4. Would you rather be a superhero or the world’s best chef?
World’s best chef. Imagine being able to cook like Gordon Ramsey?!
5. If you could write a book that was guaranteed to be a best-seller, what would you write?
A prequel to Stephen King’s IT.
6. Why do you think the Creative Careers and Pathways department is important?
It allows high-school-aged students to discover the possibilities within the Creative Industries and can provide inspiration to those students who are already showing a keen interest in a creative field.

6. Why do you think the Creative Outreach program is important?
Knowing what your options are and that you can study and pursue a career in the creative arts is a real eye opener for many high school students. Giving students the opportunity to explore a passion they have in the creative arts is what our school workshops are all about. When students attend a campus open day or workshop they realise they can study their creative passion, build a career in that industry and that the JMC Academy is the place to further their study and make their dreams a reality.
