An event dedicated to empowering anyone to realise their right to creative expression, Melbourne Fringe Festival is partnering with JMC Academy Melbourne to celebrate freedom of artist expression.
Melbourne Fringe Festival, in its 37th year of democratising the arts, continues to commit to their roots of enabling encouraging collaboration, representing and uniting artists of all disciplines. This festival has matured to become one of Victoria's most significant arts organisations supporting the generation of new work, discovering artists and new ideas. We work year-round as educators, promoters, and creators. Fringe has become the place to embrace risk through an uncurated festival which supports and encourages anyone to participate and perform.
So, are you a Melbournian? Dreaming of a Post-Iso Event? Eager to get back into performing? And most importantly, have something to say? Melbourne Fringe Festival is the creative space for you and your performance to enter.
What is Melbourne Fringe Festival looking for?
Bring your unique performance idea to Melbourne Fringe! Something diverse, something strange and thought provoking, something political, something beautiful, something technical, something emotional, something that might change the lives, minds, hearts of your audience. Being the Open-Access festival that Fringe is, your imagination is your only limitation!
What performance spaces are available?
Fate has been quite kind to our JMC Melbourne team and our 2020 is seeing our brand-new campus open. The new campus, located at Level 2 and 3, 212 Park St, South Melbourne VIC 3205, will boast a fully sound treated 190 capacity seated auditorium as well as a rooftop space directly above it – all accessible via lifts allowing both venues to be wheelchair friendly.
What do these venues offer to performers?
We can look after EVERYTHING venue related. Aside from being able to offer both spaces free of charge unlike any other venue in Melbourne, we also have a body of students who are about to graduate from their bachelors in audio engineering, technical production, business management and so on to assist you. These students will be familiar with the spaces and are super keen to get their hands on real world projects. We can match suitable students with your show to handle the box office (with supervision), front of house, audio operation, lighting operation, visuals and so on.
These venue facilities allow the potential to live stream a show from JMC Melbourne if restrictions happen to be put in place, so consider what a live stream version of your show would be if the live event cannot go ahead.
Available performance dates?
JMC performance spaces will be available from Sunday 14th November through to Sunday 29th November
Weekend Times: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM
Weekday Times: 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM
