JMC Visits Berklee for the 2019 Global Partners Summit

Berklee are most definitely the real deal and regarded as the world’s leading music college.

You might remember us bragging not too long ago about them awarding Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliot Doctorates of Music – yeah, pretty cool.

Well, as part of Berklee’s Global Partner network, JMC Academy was invited to the 2019 Berklee Summit in Boston which included a huge international network of colleges from around the globe. Our CEO and Director of International Services took this fantastic opportunity to meet up with old friends and to make many more new ones in a jam-packed event.

The three-day summit was stacked with guest speakers, panels, presentations and amazing performances from Berklee students, staff and alumni across a bunch of different genres. Our JMC crew were able to socialise and network with a whopping 45 music schools from places including Japan, Colombia, Argentina, Korea, Greece, Mexico and a huge number of other countries from around the world.

JMC's Head of International Services, Peter, had nothing but great things to say about his entire experience in Boston; "This was the best Berklee Global Partners summit we have attended so far. The session content really spoke to what most interested us, from the addition of Electronic Digital Instruments to the Berklee curriculum to Berklee Online, and the opportunity to learn more about Boston Conservatory at Berklee. A highlight was an amazing performance by students for the Summit participants."

It’s not very often you get so many diverse creatives from different corners of the globe under the one roof that are working towards a common goal of helping students make their passion for music into a career. What an incredible and inspiring 3 days it was exchanging ideas and hearing success stories from our international friends.

"The value we get by just being in the room with people from some of the best schools in the world in priceless. There is always a certain energy that is created at these meetings as we talk, collaborate and learn from each other. I always enjoy coming and seeing Berklee firsthand, it’s a great place with so many interesting things going on that constantly inspires"  Said JMC CEO, George.

Thanks for having us Berklee – we can’t wait until next time and we are looking forward to you visiting us soon for some more amazing workshops on our campuses!
