Last weekend Queensland saw their borders open again to all states other than Victoria. Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases presenting in Victoria, and now NSW, I think it is a timely reminder that we cannot be complacent.
To protect our students, staff, and their families, we implemented a range of infection control procedures and restrictions to minimise the spread of COVID-19.
If you have any of the symptoms consistent with COVID-19 please follow QLD Health Advice here. No student should attend campus if they are feeling unwell, or have respiratory symptoms (runny nose, cough, sneezing, sore throat) or other related symptoms (headache, fever, nausea).
For classes currently being held on campus, we would like to reassure you that we continue to follow our protocols for minimising risk. Social distancing, hygiene and regular sanitisation programs are in place. If you are attending campus, we ask that you present to Administration on arrival to sign in and have your temperature taken. Hand sanitisers, masks and gloves are also available on request. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Administration, or speak with your Head of Department.
With regards to the recent escalation in cases in Victoria, the Brisbane JMC family extends its support to our Melbourne students and colleagues, and wishes them good health and a safe return to campus.
All the best,
Campus Manager, Brisbane Campus
