Last month JMC Academy made a visit to Indonesia in search of some fresh musical talent and design geniuses. We weren’t disappointed!
Head of Animation Sean Callinan and Music Lecturer Andrew Rostas conducted workshops, interviews and auditions during a whirlwind tour of Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Bali. Overall they worked with over 300 students across those cities.
Here’s a taste of what happened during a high school arranging workshop:
Andrew says, ‘I loved meeting the students and applicants in Indonesia. Experiencing Indonesian culture and cuisine was also a highlight.’
JMC Academy has taught many Indonesian students across its three campuses in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Film and TV student Dewa Bagus Raharja (Gus) says ‘Studying at JMC Academy has been even better than I expected! Every lecturer is still in the industry so they constantly tell us what the ‘real world’ is like. Throughout my time in JMC Academy, I have created numerous connections in the industry and I’m growing more confident to enter the ‘real world’.
Audio student Elida Gibsiko says ‘The lecturers are professional in their industries and JMC Academy has excellent student support systems, not to mention the international student support. The class sizes are small, this simply allows the lecturers to have better interactions with each student and vice versa.’
