Character and Life Drawing Workshop ⬇

5 hour duration

Get your hands dirty with some great exercises that will introduce you to the ideas of figure and character drawing for animation, games and comic books. From generating original characters to drawing a live, costumed model. You’ll go home with a head full of ideas and a fist full of drawings.

Discover + Manage the next 'Big Thing' ⬇

OVERVIEW

Ever wondered what it would take to find, manage and promote the next Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish or Ocean Alley? How amazing it would feel to see an artist that you discovered playing on stage at Australia’s next biggest festival? 

This workshop will give you a practical insight into the world of talent discovery (also known as A&R) and artist management, revealing how and why some artists ‘make it’. Playing the role of the talent manager, you’ll get to learn the ins and outs of managing a real band from discovery to social media promotion and learning to work with booking agents to get them the biggest and best gigs and festivals spots. You will also spend the afternoon in a real-world recording studio, running the show while your band records a new track.

OUTCOMES 

  • Identify what factors have turned some of today’s artists or songs into instant chart-toppers/success
  • Tools that can be used in identifying new talent and other A&R techniques
  • What factors help build the hype around some of today’s best new artist’s
  • Experience the behind the scenes of working with an artist in-studio
  • The process of booking your artist for gigs and working with booking agents
  • Learn the basics of promotions and marketing and other exciting channels used in a career in entertainment business

Perform, Record + Create Music Workshop ⬇

This workshop will be an immersive experience where you’ll join a band to perform songs ready for a live recording! You’ll move from the stage to the computer Lab engaging with music technology using Apple Garageband and Ableton Live.

Recording a Band Workshop ⬇

Monday 1st or 8th July 2019
10:00am - 3:00pm
5 hour duration

An introduction to professional recording + mixing techniques used in studios throughout the world. In this practical workshop you will experience overdubbing and mixing in a world-class recording studio using industry standard digital and analogue equipment. You will then have the chance to complete your own mix using the latest Digital Audio Workstation software.

Please bring a USB to save your work onto.

In this one-day crash course, you’ll learn how to use visual language to communicate your ideas. You’ll practice sketchnoting and develop a visual library that you can use in different contexts; whether you’re brainstorming an idea, making study notes, or designing an app, this essential skill will help you create strong designs. Bring along your simplest but most powerful tools: pen and sketchbook, and unlock their power!
