Film & TV Production Workshop

Tuesday 2nd October 2018
10:00am - 3:00pm
5 hours duration

OVERVIEW

This practical workshop, designed specifically for high school students aims to provide an introduction to the Film & TV studio recording processes.

OUTCOMES

  • Practical skills using multi-camera operation and control room

  • An opportunity to create and experience an in-house TV production

  • An opportunity to learn from industry-experienced practitioners

Discover Visual Communication Workshop

Wednesday 3rd October 2018
10:00am - 4:00pm
6 hours duration

The Digital Design department at JMC offers a workshop that covers the fundamentals of visual communication and introduces students to the principles of design, applied across different media, from print magazines to digital interfaces. Composition, layout, typography, colour and light are some of the topics discussed throughout the course. Students will explore how different elements work together to create aesthetically pleasing designs and learn the tools and software that allow them to put these principles into practice.

Recording Studio Workshop

Wednesday 3rd October 2018
10:00am - 3:00pm
5 hours duration

An introduction to recording techniques used in large-format studios. In this practical workshop you will see a band record live in a professional recording studio and then have the chance to balance the mix yourself using the latest Digital Audio Workstation software.

Please bring a USB to save your work onto.

Character Design Workshop

Thursday 4th October 2018
10:00am - 3:00pm
5 hours duration

Introducing the typical workflows for conceptual design and execution of characters in game and animation studios, this practical workshop will explore the character art design process, including traditional concept design and the creation of 3D models with digital sculpting tools.

Please bring a sketchbook, pencil, and eraser. It’s also recommended that you bring a USB drive so that you can save your digital work.

Perform, Record & Creative Music Workshop

Thursday 4th October 2018
10:00am - 3:00pm
5 hours duration

This workshop will be an immersive experience where you’ll join a band to perform songs ready for a live recording! You’ll move from the stage to the computer Lab engaging with music technology using Apple Garageband and Ableton Live.

Entertainment Management Workshop

Friday 5th October 2018
10:00am - 3:00pm
5 hours duration

OVERVIEW

This practical workshop aims to introduce students to Entertainment Business Management, as a career. There is a particular emphasis on how the Business Management discipline interacts with other disciplines such as Film and TV production, Music, Song Writing, Audio, Animation and Gaming.

OUTCOMES

  • Learn basic knowledge about Entertainment Business Management as a career

  • Experience first-hand a day in a higher education institution

  • Create an entertainment business idea

Learn important business elements behind the scenes of concerts and music festivals within an international perspective!
