BURST: A Celebration of Integration

This event pays tribute to the talents and collaborative work of students from our Music Performance, Audio Engineering, Film and Television Production, Animation, Game Design and Entertainment Business Management courses.

What is Integration?

Part of the curriculum at JMC Academy is an 'integration' unit, where students from all courses work together on a single project. Through these integrated projects, students are able to gain hands-on experience in how the real industry operates.

For example, Entertainment Business Management students will manage a band of students from the Contemporary Music & Performance course. They will facilitate the professional recording of a single, recorded and mixed by Audio Engineering & Sound Production Students. They will also facilitate the filming of a music video by the Film & Television Production and Animation students, as well as coordinate a live performance of the single and the marketing of the single's launch.

What is BURST?

Burst is an awards night which showcases these integration projects. We will see the music videos created by the Film & TV students, hear the mixes recorded by the Audio students, see the live performances by the Contemporary Music & Performance and Songwriting students, honour the huge role played by the Entertainment Business Management students, and see the Animation ID's created by the Animation students.

There will be awards presented for; Best Band, Best Management Team, Best Mix, Best Music Clip, Best Animated ID, with an additional award for People’s choice in each category.

On the night there is the chance to WIN the SRC lucky door raffle; tickets are available for purchase in the student lounge or at the door. Raffle will be drawn on the night; winner must be present to receive the prize, which is a $100 JB-HiFi gift voucher!

So, come a long for a fun filled night and check out what our students have been working so hard to create!
