What to look forward to at JMC this 2019?

2018 was a great year for JMC – we've seen some remarkable creativity on campus, got to know incredible students and witnessed positive growth. We launched our new second Brisbane Campus, our Master of Creative Industries program, our first wellness week and our short courses. We’re constantly trying to improve and innovate things for our students, and working hard and fast to stay ahead of the curve. So what do we have in store for 2019? You can be sure we’re definitely not slowing down! Here’s a sneak peek…

Melbourne Campus

If you’ve heard the rumours, you’ve heard right! Melbourne are getting a brand new campus this 2019, in addition to a complete refurb of the current campus. We can’t reveal too much yet, but rest assured it’s going to be AMAZING.

Visiting Japan

Following the success of our 2018 Anime + Manga study tour to Japan, we recently announced a second study stream in 2019 for Music + Songwriting students to study the J-Pop Industry!

Find out more here.

PLUS, a whole heap of other study abroad opportunities including LA, The Netherlands and London.

Start of our Masters Program

This year we will see the first group of Master of Creative Industries students bring their creative projects to life through industry mentorship and hands-on production units. To find out how you can be one of these students, click here…

Industry Speakers

Last year saw some incredible speakers and workshops come to JMC from all over the creative industries, from Matthew Packwood on marketing yourself as a creative professional, lyric writing tips from the pro Pat Pattison, Blockbuster Animator Tom Sito to VR Expert Angus Steven and plenty more! This year looks to be filled with even more industry speakers as we bring the best talent in the industry to speak to our students, alumni and (for some events) the general public. Keep your eye out for more announcements!

Partnerships

As well as partnering with events such as BIGSOUND 2018, YES18, UX Australia + SIGGRAPH (to name a few), our students have also interned on a huge number of events including Carols in the Park, The Commonwealth Games, Queensland Community Awards, The Social Media Marketing Awards and so many more. 2019 will see a record number of students sinking their teeth into some awesome new internship opportunities!

We’re excited for you to join our creative journey this 2019!
