Sean Foran, Head of Music (Brisbane) recently spent time in Seoul at our partner institution, Seoul Jazz Academy.
While at the Academy, he conducted a workshop 'Improvisation and Rhythmic Skills in Contemporary Music'. Seoul Jazz Academy also hosted auditions for applicants to JMC Academy's music courses.

Award winning pianist, educator and composer Sean Foran is a musician with a clear sense of individual aesthetic. With a growing profile in Australia and internationally, his music is melodic, engaging, and manages to draw stylistic influences together in a vibrant manner.
He has received the prestigious Brisbane City Council's Lord Mayors Emerging Artist Fellowship & APRA Professional Development Award – Jazz, and has studied in Australia, Canada, Norway, Sweden, France & the UK with leading musicians including John Taylor, Tord Gustavsen, Baptiste Trotignon, Matthew Bourne and Lars Jansson.
He has collaborated with the QLD Symphony Orchestra, Expressions Dance company, plus a wide variety of contemporary and classical musicians around the world in performance and recording projects.
Sean is currently Head of Music at JMC Academy Brisbane, & co-director of the specialist publishing company Prepared Sounds. Sean has previously conducted workshops on contemporary music in Japan, Korea, Indonesia, China, and the UK.
Sean is an associate artist of the Australian Music Centre.
