The Hoodoo Gurus on FIFA World Cup variety show

Hosted by comedian Jimeoin, The Full Brazilian is a variety show celebrating the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where each night viewers are de-briefed on the agony and ecstasy of the world’s biggest sporting festival.

Hoodoo_Gurus.jpgJimeoin is joined by a variety of celebrities, sporting legends and music stars, and among those music stars was our very own lecturer Rick Grossman of the Hoodoo Gurus. Lead singer of the band Dave Faulkner explained that the band has seen great success in Brazil, since their Brazilian fans can relate to the Australian beach culture.

Rick has been teaching and mentoring at JMC for 13 years in the Contemporary Music Performance department, looking after the practical side of performance. Rick rose to fame as bass player of the Divinyls, where he played with the likes of U2 & Aerosmith. The Divinyls were inducted into the Aria hall of fame in 2006, and the Hoodoo Gurus were inducted shortly after in 2007.
