International student receives prestigious Elizabeth Cass Award

JMC Academy congratulates Norwegian student Jan Thomas Halsvik, winner of the 2012 Elizabeth Cass Award.

The award is presented to one student on each JMC campus who has the best overall academic achievement for the year and who has made a significant contribution to JMC Academy life. Jan is studying the Bachelor of Creative Technology (Audio Engineering and Sound Production) in Brisbane and will graduate in the class of 2012.

Since moving to Brisbane to study at JMC, Jan has made a lasting impression on his classmates and his teachers.

He says, ‘It is an honor to receive this award, and it is always very good to have all your hard work recognised. That said, all the people at JMC contribute to a great campus life, and it has made me happy for three years straight. Being in a good place just helps you to get good marks and gives you a good general outlook on life, and both students and staff at JMC help in this.’

Director of International Services, Peter Gainey, said ‘We’re very proud to have one of our international students receive this award. It demonstrates our commitment to attracting exceptional students who can excel in the JMC Academy environment. Congratulations Jan!’
