Melbourne High School Workshops

During the December and January school holidays, JMC Melbourne campus will be running a range of Introductory workshops. Get your tickets today before they sell out!

The workshops are a great opportunity to check out the JMC Academy campus while getting a taste of what studying your passion with Australia's leading Creative Industries provider is like.

Each workshop costs $20 + booking fee for the day*. This includes light refreshments on the day.

JMC workshops are strictly for 15-18 year old high school students.

December 2016

Stagecraft and Performance Workshop

Tuesday 13th December 2016
10:00am - 2:00pm
Students will learn the fine points of performance and preparation from one of JMC Academy's most experienced and talented music staff. Stagecraft and performance-readiness are two of the most important skills to have as a professional musician, and this workshop will look to develop those skills and develop your ability to bring out the best representation of your music.




 

Entertainment Business Management Workshop

Wednesday 14th December 2016
10:00am - 12:30pm

This fascinating workshop will give participants the opportunity to explore and discuss the critical components that are required to create an event. This workshop will run through the fundamentals of event design. This fun workshop will give you an introductory level understanding of the processes involved in designing a contemporary music event.



 

Film and Television Workshop

This practical workshop, designed specifically for high school students, aims to provide students with an introduction to the Film and Television studio recording processes where you will be introduced to our green screen and editing suits.




 

Introduction to Songwriting Workshop

Wednesday 21st December 2016
10:00am - 1:00pm

This practical workshop is designed for students wanting to work in the music industry as an artist, as part of a band or as a songwriter. In the workshop, students will take a song and look at different ways of arranging and stylistic interpretation to bring individuality and craft to the performance.

Introduction to Pro Tools Workshop

Tuesday 17th January 2017
10:00am - 3:00pm

This practical workshop aims to introduce high school students to the Audio Engineering system of Pro Tools. The workshop will cover the basics of using Pro Tools, and will assist students in developing their editing and mastering skills with music and sound.




 

Introduction to Ableton Live Workshop

Thursday 19th January 2017
10:00am - 3:00pm

This workshop will introduce high school students to the Audio Engineering system Ableton, and assist in developing their skills with audio engineering. Please bring headphones with you on the day.




 

Introduction to Game Development Workshop

Thursday 19th January 2017
12:30am - 3:30pm

This practical workshop, designed specifically for high school students, aims to introduce students to various applications of the Gaming industry.




 

Introduction to Animation Workshop

In our Animation Workshop, you will learn 2D animation with an experienced animation supervisor and explore digital tools used internationally for productions.
