Animation & Games Professional Development Courses

JMC Academy has the pleasure in offering a variety of complimentary Professional Development courses in Animation and Game Development software.

To assist in developing and expanding high school Media, Studio Art, Visual Communications, and IT teachers' skills, these professional development courses run throughout the year and are offered in Beginner and Intermediate levels, at no extra cost to you. 

All courses are also taught by industry teachers, and is therefore a course for teachers, by teachers.

Autodesk Maya
In the Beginners workshop, teachers will be introduced to Maya, and will learn the different areas of the software in the first foundation workshop. The Intermediate workshop, teachers will learn character animation in Maya using a variety of tools and workflows, and if for those who already have existing animation skills. If you complete the Beginners workshop, you will be prepared to take on the Intermediate workshop.

Unity
The Beginners workshop will introduce teachers to Unity, an all-in-one toolset that has taken the industry by storm. Explore the feature set and experiment with laying out your own level. The Intermediate workshop is people with existing programming or Unity experience, and will learn to develop your own custom functionality in Unity. 

Adobe After Effects
The Beginners workshop will teach the basics of Adobe After Effects, including getting familiar with the interface and testing your first composition. For those who have an understanding of compositing software, the Intermediate workshop teaches will learn new 3D features for working with visual effects shots in After Effects.
