MARTINI AWARDS WRAP UP AND MOCKTAILS WINNER

The 2011 JMC Academy Martini Awards were held on the 25th of November at the Astor Theatre in Melbourne. This year marked the fourth annual 'Martini' event and was screened to an audience that has tripled in numbers, as well as outgrowing two previous venues since its inception.

Hosted by Lee Zachariah from ABC2's The Bazura Project, the event screened over 24 shortlisted films created by JMC Academy students across numerous categories including documentaries, short films and animations. What was witnessed was truly some of Melbourne's most promising new filmmakers.

This year, in recognition of the supremely talented high school-aged filmmakers, we launched an award category aptly named. the Mocktails. The Mocktails invited high school students across Melbourne to submit a short film or documentary. The award and corresponding accolades went to talented High School Student and filmmaker Minh Nguyen. We won't even begin to describe how remarkable his film submission was. We urge you to see for yourself .
