Look no further that the JMC Academy's Popular Music and Performance course. As a JMC Academy student, you can look forward to a course that is well-rounded and structured towards enhancing all aspects required to turn your talent and passion into a commercially viable career.
At the JMC Academy, we invest in developing your creative, technical, theoretical and business skills necessary to compete commercially upon graduation.
Your creative talents will be encouraged, nurtured and extended through sessions in song writing, musical arrangement, improvisation and in performance classes for stage, screen and studio. You will also receive extensive training in your chosen instrument and benefit from a practical mixture of band sessions, performance training sessions and movement classes.
Modules in multimedia, communication and application of the internet for the music industry will also be explored.
As a musician at JMC Academy you will work professionally in an ensemble fashion, developing communication skills essential for a successful career in the industry. You are also able to apply your skills through a variety of practical projects and assessments, including participation at live performances at leading music venues, and at the JMC Academy’s annual awards showcase.
Throughout your studies, you will be required to interact directly with the Entertainment Business Management, Audio Engineering, Animation and Digital Television students for the development of a formal recording and an accompanying video clip that forms part of your portfolio upon graduation.

JMC Course Structure |
|
Course Structure
All units of study for the Diploma, Associate Degree and Degree programmes are delivered on JMC Academy premises and are attainable at the following levels:
Diploma
- Based on full time status, students complete the programme in 2 trimesters (30 weeks).
Associate Degree
- Based on full time status, students complete the programme in 4 trimesters (60 weeks).
Bachelor Degree
- Based on full time status, students complete the programme in 6 trimesters (90 weeks).
