Want to be a Digital Film and Television Production Student?
In recognition of the very real and exciting career prospects that await you as a Film and Television Production student, we have structured our practicum and curriculum to correlate with the growth sectors of the industry and with the exponential demand for digital content.
This hands-on course will provide you with comprehensive knowledge and the advanced skills necessary to be work in a multitude of environments and at all levels of the creative, administrative, technical, and managerial production spectrum.
As a JMC Academy Film and Television Production student, prepare to learn about the broadcast and studio environment, reality and live television production, documentary and television series production, electronic news gathering, current affairs production and the modern media landscape, and feature film, music video clip and television commercial production.
As a Film and Television student at JMC Academy, you will be encouraged, challenged, motivated and inspired by leading industry professionals, academics and colleagues to create work you are proud of, and work that will hold you in good demonstrative stead when seeking solid employment beyond graduation.
At this stage of learning, you will be encouraged to produce a music video project by collaborating with JMC Academy’s music and business students, ensuring you gain a genuine understanding of the series of networks instrumental to a project’s success.
Armed with an envious skill set and client-centred perspective (including the ability to respond creatively to a brief and deliver on-deadline), in your final year, you will be given the opportunity to extend your creativity in the creation of a longer-form production including a television pilot, documentary or short film. This will involve engaging in pre-production development, screenwriting, casting and production design, production, delivery, marketing and distribution.
One of the many highlights of your practicum includes running the live outside broadcast for the annual JMC Academy Student Awards Showcase and (in Sydney) the JMC Academy live news web-channel.
